A “Wow!” piece by renowned Southwest artist, Art Tafoya.
Born with an artist’s eye, Art learned silversmithing at a young age. Later, he studied with a student of an important early Navajo silversmiths, Fred Peshlakai. Art acquired some of Peshlakai’s tools and stamps and studied Peshlakai’s designs. Art’s work reflects that influence but his style is his own. Art’s work is in the permanent collection of the Albuquerque Museum and he is featured in the book Navajo Silversmith Fred Peshlakai, His Life and Art.
This ring is amazing, huge, a bracelet for your finger. A very floral ring made with layers of silver that add dimension to the ring. The stone is a replacement (good quality Hubei turquoise) but it suits the ring beautifully. The ring is 2 3/8″ x 2″ and is a size 7, in excellent used condition.
