This is Adler’s Town & Country pattern, simple, elegant. California, ca 1950s.
Silver is 3 1/8” high x 4 1/8” diameter x 4 ¾” across rim to end of the spout, handle, 6 5/8”
This sauce pourer, ladle or whatever you choose to use it for, is a lovely object. It’s beautiful design and well-crafted piece.
Born in Montana in 1916, Allan Adler studied silver work and moved to California. By the late 1930s, silversmithing was Adler’s primary occupation. A talented silversmith, Allan Adler became known over his career as the “silversmith to the stars,” creating custom work for politicians, celebrities, including Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy and many others. His works were displayed in the “Living Treasures of California” exhibition at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento in 1985.
