An unusual Navajo figural weaving or rug, “Pray for Us.” I love the part the weaver wove in to the woman’s hair.
Hand-spun wool woven on a Navajo upright loom. Approximately 22.5″ x 32-ish.” The rug is in very good old condition with a small area of weft thinning, visible in the photos of the lady’s bangs on her right, when she is looking to her right, when you can read the text. Anyway, that small area is the only obvious wear.
Traditional and not, a wonderful combination!
