Great old Navajo pin, 1930s or ’40s. Funky construction with small silver doughnuts (not beads that I can tell, the dot in the middle of each piece is punched), laid around the domes or bump-ups and around the bezel. One doughnut moved during soldering so it’s perched on there sideways, at the wide end of the turquoise. The turquoise matches the brooch in funkiness, natural, fractured, with a really rough surface with small divots in the matrix. But, the stone is stable and snug in it’s bezel. A cool old piece.
The brooch is 2″ x 2 5/8″ wide.
