A charming small pot by Zia potter Eleanor Griego. The verbal attribution came with the pot. Eleanor grew up in a family of well-known potters, with family members and potters including Ascension Galvan, Laura Atkins, Kathryn Pino, Ruby Panana and Seferina Bell. This pot is a good example of Eleanor’s loyalty to her pottery tradition.
This olla has monumentality. Until you know it’s measurements, it could be pot 3″ or 20″ tall. This pot is 3″ tall x 3 1/4″ wide at the shoulder. The little olla is in good old condition with light surface wear and very small scratches. A lovely small piece of New Mexico Pueblo pottery history.
