An unusual old chile bowl. I believe this was made at Cochiti Pueblo sometime in the early 20th century. Typical of the weight of Cochiti and Santo Domingo pottery, slight heavy for it’s size, 3 5/8″ x 7 3/4.” The form is an early one, with a slight inward doming of the base with a notable outward flare of the entire design band. Rag polished with the ceremonial break of the pigment at the rim. Well used.
