A lovely older Acoma olla with a detailed pie crust rim. The rim has an impressed toothed pattern. This polychrome olla or wide bowl is beautifully painted with delicate dotted swirls softening the geometric designs. Used at a Pueblo, there are bits of powdered red pigment around the rim. Lovely old patina and handled surface. It is marked on the underside but this could be either a maker’s or owner’s mark, “JP, Acoma.” Circa 1940, 6 1/4″ x 9,” in very good old condition with surface wear.
