Massive bear paw ring by Sam Lovato, Kewa Pueblo, sz 12

I love finding Native American jewelry by pueblo artists so it was a delight to find this Wow! piece, a big bear paw ring by Sam Lovato.  Sam was Kewa (Santo Domingo) and was a master silversmith.  He was known for using strong designs with high quality stones and that aesthetic is visible here.  I think this turquoise is a good piece of Morenci with good color and bright silver pyrite inclusions.  Wearable at a size 12, the paw measures 1 7/8″ x 1 3/8.”
