Great big silver butterfly by Taxco master silversmith, Hector Aguilar. A beautiful piece with piercings and simple stampwork to form a dynamic butterfly pin with cast body, sheet silver wings and added wire antennae.
Many of the early Taxco smiths preferred to use a higher grade of silver for the different color and surface and this pin is .940 silver. Fully marked on the back with Hector’s “HA,” “Taxco” and “940.” The butterfly measures 2 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ and is in excellent old condition.
