Vintage Pueblo jewelry, a brass antelope by Kewa artist, Tony Aguilar

Quite a charming creature, an antelope brooch by famed Santo Domingo artist, Tony Aguilar, Sr.  After serving the U.S. Army, Tony returned home to New Mexico.  Trained in jewelry work before he went overseas, while Tony was stationed in Iran, he admired the distinct jewelry of the Middle East.  He came home with an appreciation for materials different from the traditional silver and stones of the Southwest.  He sometimes chose to work with brass.  The warmth color of the brass works well for this antelope with extra character!  He’s 2 1/2″ tall x about 1 7/8″ hooves to horns.  Tony’s stamped mark is on the back.  No issues, wearable and ready for Christmas.  Shipping is free anywhere in the continental U.S.
